Prof. Anand Kumar. Kondapi

Professor Anand Kumar Kondapi is the Head of the Department of Biotechnology, and coordinator of Bioinformatics program at the University of Hyderabad. He is an adjunct faculty at the Centre for Modeling, Simulation and Design. Dr. Anand Kumar obtained M Sc in chemistry in 1985, and later in 1990 completed PhD from Andhra University. Subsequently, he started a multidisciplinary research in genetic recombination at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, under NBTB postdoctoral program. He joined in 1993 as faculty at the School of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad, and has been working there since then. He has been a visiting research fellow at the Laboratory of Tumor Cell Biology, National Cancer Institute, Bethesda, and later at Institute of Human Virology, University of Maryland, Baltimore.
Dr. Anand Kumar is a leading researcher in the area of molecular therapeutics. He is known for contribution in understanding the role of DNA Topoisomerases in oncogenesis, immunodeficiency and ageing. He is also interested in the design and development of nanoparticle-based drug delivery system and polymeric nanoscaffolds. He has obtained several patents in biotechnology and published several papers in peer reviewed journals. He is a consultant of Dr. Reddy’s Hetero Drugs Private Ltd, Arabindo Pharma, and Indian Herbs. During his career spanning last two decades, Dr. Anand Kumar has trained a large pool of scientists and students in the frontier areas of biotechnology and bioinformatics.



Dr. R. S. Rathore

Dr. Rathore received M. Phil. in 1990 and later PhD in Structural Biology from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He then worked as research scientist at the University of Texas (Medical Branch), Galveston, Texas, and later many places including Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Bangalore. Currently, he is associated with the Department of Biotechnology, University of Hyderabad. Dr. Rathore has published 56-papers as a lead author in the international journals. His main interests are X-ray crystallography, molecular informatics, QM/MM FEP, protein de novo design and ab inito structure predictions.


Dr. Vaibahv Vindal

After completing his Masters in Biotechnology from the University of Allahabad, Mr. Vaibhav pursued his Doctoral research work in the area of Computational and Functional Genomics at the Centre for DNA fingerprinting and Diagnostics, Hyderabad, India. Subsequent to his Ph.D. work, in December 2008, Mr. Vaibhav joined the University of Hyderabad as a Lecturer in the Department of Biotechnology of the School of Life Sciences.
Currently, the broad spectrum of his research analysis is directed towards the understanding of: a).Genome analysis and Functional Genomics; and b). Analysis of Protein sequence, structure, and function

Pankaj has completed his B. Tech. in Biotechnology from SVBP University of Agriculture & Technology Meerut UP, India in 2009. He is currently pursuing M. Tech (Bioinformatics) at Department of Biotechnology, University of Hyderabad. His main interests are in the area of HIV informatics and building biological networks and tools for online data analysis.
